Queen Mary Preparing For Mystery Voyage -- Lifeboats being lowered into the water from the Queen Mary at her pier in New York today as preparations were made for quick departure. The Queen Mary received a large addition to her crew on Monday when 770 seamen arrived here on the S.S. Antonia and were divided between the Queen Mary and the Mauretania. In this photo the new crew members are operating the lifeboat mechanisms. No information has been given out by the Cunard white star line on the trip contemplated for the two giant liners. In the foreground is shown the S.S. Normandie sow of the French line. March 20, 1940. (Photo by Wide World Photo).
