Queen's Farewell Inspection of Grenadiers - The Queen, dressed in black, inspects grey-caped Grenadier Guardsmen at Windsor Castle to-day (Monday) - her 26th birthday. This was the first ceremonial parade of the Queen's reign and it was also a farewell. She was saying good-bye to the Grenadiers as Colonel of the Regiment. As Sovereign, she is new Colonel - in - Chief of all Guards regiments. Six hundred officers and men were on parade.
