"Queen Elizabeth On Fire In Southampton Dry Dock -- Fire-engines and firemen stand by alongside The Queen Elizabeth in Southampton dry dock here. Fire broke out aboard the Queen Elizabeth, the world's largest ocean liner, in dry dock here to-night. Alert firemen, however, brought the fire under control in under an hour, saving the vessel from possibly a similar fate as that of the Empress of Canada which was destroyed by fire at Liverpool on Sunday night. The 83,000-ton Queen Elizabeth is undergoing her annual overhaul at Southampton. January 28, 1953.
