At Windsor Castle H.M. The Queen presented the Queen's Company Colour and Royal Standard of the Regiment to the Soverign's Company of the 1st Grenadier and Royal Standard is peculiar to the Grenadier Guards and has no counterpart in any other infantry regiment. The custom was started by King Charles II in the year 1661 and has been followed by almost every Soverign since that date.
