Queen's Coronation Robe May Be Woven From Lulliingstone Silk. Mrs. Edna Clark, of Farningham, Kent, collecting the cocoons at Lullingstone silk farm. The cocoon, containing a mile-and-a-half of silk, takes the worm three days to spin. Silk for the Queen's Coronation robe is likely to come from Zoe Lady Hart Dyke's silkworm farm at Lullingstone Castle, Eynsford, Kent, where this picture has just been taken. Lady Hart Dyke wrote to the Queen offering spun silk from which the Coronation robe could be woven. July 5, 1952.
