President Presents Pilot's Medal To His Parents - President F.D. Roosevelt presents the Congressional Medal of Honor to Mr. and Mrs. Harl Pease, Sr., who received it for their son, Captain Harl Pease, Jr., United States Army Air Force pilot believed killed when he made a daring raid over a Japanese base in the Pacific despite a damaged plane. The citation read in parts: "For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity above and beyond the call of duty." Captain Pease previously had won the Distinguished Flying Cross. February 15, 1943.
