Posada dreams or a magnificent Christmas carol, 1903, by José Guadalupe Posada (1852-1913). The recto of this broadside shows dream-like images of people gathering around a campfire (upper right), a nativity scene with the three magi in procession (upper left), two scenes of couples dancing, and a scene of three individuals in front of the mouth of hell (lower left). On the verso there is an image of people carrying a crèche in a posada procession and a small image of a baby asleep next to it. Traditionally, a posada is a Mexican Christmas enactment of the holy family asking for lodging.
