Poland, Warsaw. Grand Theatre. The Warsaw Theatre Directorate was the autority for theatres in the Duchy of Warsaw during the 19th and early 20th centuries. It was set up by Frederick Augustus I of Saxony on April 14,1810. The Grand Theatre was built between 1825 and 1833, according the design by the Italian architect Antonio Corazzi of Livorno. It was inaugurated on February 24, 1833. Engraving, 1840. Later colouration.
