The Pilgrims Honour New American Ambassador -- From left to right :- Sir Campbell Stuart, Alderman Denys Lowson (Lord Mayor of London), Mr. Ernest Bevin (British's Foreign Minister), Mr. Walter S. Gifford (American ambassador) and Viscount Halifax (former Foreign Minister and former British Ambassador in Washington). Against a background of the British and American flags and a painting depicting the sailing of the Pilgrim Fathers in the Mayflower in 1620 the Pilgrims of Greet Britain tonight entertained the new American ambassador to Britain. Mr. Walter S. Gifford, to dinner at London's Savoy Hotel. The painting was presented in 1902 to the movement by one of the founders, Mr. J. Arthur Barratt. January 9, 1951.
