The " Picture Of The War " reached Sydney today. It Shows the Men of the US Aircraft carrier Lexington going over the side on ropes when she caught fire after the Coral Sea Battle. It shows the decks of the stricken vessel crowded with men while others clamber down the ropes.Cause of the decks Carrier's loss was explosion of her Petrol tanks. Her Principal officers went down with her, but 92 percent. Of the Crew were saved. Stern of a destroyer picking up men can be seen at right. July 21, 1942.
