Physicist Otto Faust of Germany has produced a radio ***** works without electric current or batteries.The set works solely by lights falling onto a row of selenium cells (either daylight or artificial light) which generates enough electricity to power the receiver.At the back of the radio set, where the battery is usually contained, is the folding board of selenium cells. The intensity of light falling onto these cells determines the volume of sound emitted from the set. An Ordinary hand-torch is enough to power the set. January 29, 1955.
