Olympic cycling champion Lionel Cox receives a cheque for £60 towards his fares to the Empire Games in Canada from Mr. G. W. Ransom, general manager of Cox's employers, A. G. Healing Ltd. Cox had to find £120 of his expenses for the Games trip. He will appear at Sydney Stadium on June 18 in a show for the Empire Games Fund. January 9, 1954.
