Ocean Monarch At Tilbury -- With a "King Neptune" figurehead on the bow, the "Ocean Monarch" has last minute preparations before sailing (painters scaffolding is still over the side). Sailing today from Tilbury to New York to join in the cruise traffic, is the new liner Ocean Monarch (about 14,000 tons) Built for Massrs. Furness withy and Company, the new liner is the first large ship specially built for the cruising traffic in Britain since the war. She has accommodation for 40 one class passengers and will assist the liner Queen of Bermuda during the busy season of the New York - Bermuda run. She is a turbine steamship. April 17, 1951.
