Now It's The Radar Hot Dog!That American institution, the hot dog, is now linked with the future. At the fun zone here, a machine cooks the edible with electrostatic, or radio, heat. It is called the Radar Dog Machine. A cold frankfurter is slipped in a cold bun, doused with mustard, and wrapped in a paper napkin. Then it is put in a pyrex tube and slipped between coils of a machine. The operator presses a button and fluorescent light go on. In 30 seconds it's done. May 07, 1946. (Photo by Wide World Photos)
