New Portrait of The Queen - One of two portraits of the Queen which are among the 339 exhibits at the Royal Society of portrait painters' annual exhibition in London. It is by W.E. Webster and after the exhibition closes will be sent to the corporation of Nairobi who commissioned it. Webster, who has been a member of the society for more than 30 years, made his painting after studying a number of photographs. He rarely works that way, but the Queen was unable to give him any sittings. November 19, 1954. (Photo by Associated Press Photo).
