New police uniform ***** seen on the streets of Melbourne was worn today First Constable Snell (left) at the corner of Collins and Spencer Streets. But at 8 a.m. the wind was too cold for him to remove his coat and show the summer style. Later, when he left the windy corner, he took it off. The uniform will become general issue when stocks are available. March 10, 1947.
