New Kent Oil Refinery Under Construction -- The new Kent Oil Refinery new being built at the Isle of Grain, Kent is the scene of much activity as the construction work steadily progresses.When the refinery is in complete operation in 1954 over four million tons of crude oil from the Middle East will be processed annually. The principal products will be motor spirit, kerosene, tractor vaporising oil, fuel oils and lubricants. The new refinery is being built by the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, who are also constructing new jetties which will accommodate the largest of the new tankers now being built for the British Tanker Company, the oil company's shipping organisation.
