New Cement Works In Northern Rhodesia. - The Governor of Northern Rhodesia, Sir Gilbert Rennie, has recently opened the Colonial Development Corporation's new cement works at Chilangs.The project is jointly owned by the Northern Rhodesian Government (25 per cent) and the C.D.C. (75 per cent), It was designed to meet the country's requirements, but in two years the demand foe cement has trebled. Already the factory is producing more than nine hundred tons of cement a week which does not represents the maximum output.
