A German Heinkel bomber crashed on the north-east coast after it had been crippled by the fire of Royal Air force fighters which engaged it after the enemy had appeared near the Firth of Forth. Two other Nazi raiders were badly damaged by British filters when attacks were made on shipping off the north-east coast. March 1, 1940.
