Navy's Anti-Sub Hoverplanes -- Helicopters of Number 845 squadron - the Royal Navy's first anti-submarine helicopter squadron - flying over shipping in the Solent today. The Squadron went into operational service at Gosport yesterday. The America-built Sikorsky's 55's known in the Navy as Whirlwinds, are similar to these now with the Navy in Malaya. Their anti-submarine equipment includes "dipping asdic". The squadron is expected to be based at Malta in the early summer. The helicopters are powered by Wright Cyclone engines.
