Murals from Pompeii (circa 300BC to AD79): wall paintings from the House of Queen Caroline (Casa della Regina Carolina) at left, yellow candelabra with eagle from the Casa delle Danzatrichi, excavated in 1811, and other candelabras from the House of Castor and Pollux, excavated in 1828. It includes interior decorations by Giulio Romano in the Palazzo del Te, Mantua, medieval mosaics in Sicily, and Roman wall paintings from Pompeii and Herculaneum. Wilhelm Zahn (1800-1871) was a German artist, architect and academic who traveled around Europe documenting classical and Renaissance architecture.
