Murals from the House of Argus and Io (Casa d'Argo e d'Io) at Heraculaneum (circa 300BC to AD79), excavated in 1830. It includes interior decorations by Giulio Romano in the Palazzo del Te, Mantua, medieval mosaics in Sicily, and Roman wall paintings from Pompeii and Herculaneum. Wilhelm Zahn (1800-1871) was a German artist, architect and academic who traveled around Europe documenting classical and Renaissance architecture.
