Mr. Matthews flying his machine, a Puss Moth, at Croydon to-day.Mr. F.R. Matthews, an instructor at the London Flying Club, is leaving Croydon at dawn to-morrow in an attempt to break Bert Hinkckler's records flight to Australia. There are also four other pilots making the attempt and they will compete in a friendly race to Australia. Mr. Matthews taught Army Johnson to fly. September 16, 1930.
