Mr. Cottrell, (seen centre) helps the removal men move his furniture into a Nissen Hut, which he intends to make his home. "Squatters" take over old army huts. Because of the shortage of living accommodation, people, desperate for homes of their own, are moving into disused army camps all over the country. "Squatters" have moved into Vache camp, Chalfont St. Giles, Bucks, which was built for and used by the United States Army. Sanitation is good and the electric light is still working. August 21, 1946.
