A mortar team of the First Battalion Royal Australian Regiment goes into action during a mortar shoot on the Korean truce line. Passing one of the heavy three inch bombs to the loader is Pte Noel Pearce, of Katoomba, New South Wales. The diggers were competing against other Commonwealth Division units in a competition designed to test their speed and accuracy in handing the mortars. The Australian Battalion won easily.
