In 1924 he received Lithuanian citizenship and left Russia. In 1935 he went to England with the ensemble of the Kaunas Theater. Since 1939 he lived in the USA. He died in 1957 in New York. At the beginning of his artistic career, at the beginning of the 20th century, he was influenced by Art Nouveau. Well-known artists of the silver age, such as Alexander Nikolayevich Benua and Konstantin Andrejewitsch Somow influenced his work. Later, his style was closely aligned with symbolism.
