Loom Width with Floral and Tiger-stripe Design 16th century This loom width panel features an unusual combination of elements from the çintamani motif and floral iconography. The wavy lines, alternately referenced as "tiger stripes" in the context of çintamani, is paired with a triple sprig of stylized blossoms derived from the repertoire of the nakkaşhane, the royal workshop. The iconography of this panel is also embellished with tiny geometric details within the lattice framework that resemble wood inlay. The whole composition is overlaid with feathery leaves called saz, and executed with gold metal wrapped thread for maximum effect.. Loom Width with Floral and Tiger-stripe Design 450519
