London's "Bus Of The Future" -- The prototype of London's lightweight "Bus of the future" is seen at the commercial motor show which opens at earls court, London, tomorrow Setp. 24. The bus, which is to be called the "London transport routemaster", will carry eight more passengers but weighs less than those in current use. It was no chassis frame in the usual sense and all stresses are carried by a new type body structure of high tensile lightweight aluminium alloy. It will seat 64 passengers as against the present 56. It wil be 8 feet wide as against the standard 7-feet 6-inches and a foot longer than the present buses. October 01, 1954. (Photo by Associated Press Photo).
