The lean to the northeast of the famous old tower of Trinity Church has been checked at 18 inches by engineers who are sinking caissons 75 feet to bedrock. This picture from a nearby building gives a fine view of the cemetery, most valuable in the country, and the 100-year-old tower, once the tall pride of the Island but now Dwarfed by a ring of wall street skyscrapers. The lean of the tower, of course, was nothing compared to the 16-foot lean of the tower of Pisa. October 8, 1935. (Photo by Associated Press Photo).
