La Conciergerie on the Ile de la Cite is part of the complex of the Palais de Justice. The fortress-like building was used among others as a prison. Especially in the era of the French Revolution, many prisoners were sitting in the dungeons of the Conciergerie - including Marie Antoinette, Danton and Robespierre. Date: circa 1910
