The King is Dead. Outside the Royal exchange as city workers await the expected proclamation, following the death of his Majesty this morning. His Majesty King George VI died in his sleep early this morning. He was 56. This was announced from Sandringham at 10-45 a.m. to-day. When the king retired last night he appeared to be in his usual health. He had been out yesterday morning and afternoon. The Queen and Princess Margaret are at Sandringham. February 6, 1952.
