Steer, of Southampton, a ship's steward, who, it was stated at Southampton today (Monday), saw James Camb, 30-year-old deck steward in the cabin of Eileen (Gay) Gibson, 29-year-old London actress, during the night of October 17-18th last, prior to her disappearance from the Union Castle liner Durban Castle, homeward bound from South Africa. Camb was in the dock to-day charged with murdering the girl, whose body, alleged to have been forced through the port-hole of the caoln, has not been recovered. November 17, 1947.
