Joseph Foullon de Doué (Joseph-François Foullon de Doué) (1715-1789). French politician. In 1789, after the dismissal of Jacques Necker, Foullon was appointed "Surintendant des Finances" (Controller-General of Finances) (12 to 22 July 1798), and minister of the King's Household. On 22 July 1789, Foullon was captured by peasants in the Viry-Châtillon near Paris and taken to the capital. He was beheaded by the crowd in front of the Hôtel de Ville. Portrait. Engraving.
