Joseph Foullon de Doue (Joseph-Francois Foullon de Doue) (1715-1789). French politician. In 1789, after the dismissal of Jacques Necker, Foullon was appointed ""Surintendant des Finances"" (Controller-General of Finances) (12 to 22 July 1798), and minister of the King's Household. On 22 July 1789, Foullon was captured by peasants in the Viry-Chatillon near Paris and taken to the capital. He was beheaded by the crowd in front of the Hotel de Ville. Portrait. Engraving.
