Jean-Antoine Roucher (1745-1794). French poet. During the Reign of Terror he wrote several articles against the revolution, which led to his arrest on October 4, 1793. Roucher was imprisoned in Saint-Lazare Prison. Accused of being the leader of a conspiracy among the prisoners at Saint-Lazare, he was guillotined on 25 July 1794 (7 Thermidor year II). Portrait.
