The Janisaries Tree - Constantinople, Turkey. A tradition has grown up that this tree was planted at the founding of the Janisary order. Turkish Janisaries were the servants of the Sultans and formed his private army. Known as the 'Slaves of the Gate' - always traditionally assassinated the Sultan (when necessary!).
