Hukbalahaps Leader -- Luis Taruc, (Above), is the leader of the Hukbalahaps (armed peasants) in the Philippine Islands. The Huks and USAFFE guerrilla. Clashes against each other have kept central Luzon in a high tension since early this year. The Huks, during the war, operated informally against the Japanese. USAFFE Guerrillas fought underground with the assistance and recognition of the United States Army Forces in the Far East, from which the Organization takes its name.
