Guitar before 1858 Pedro Fuentes Spanish Pedro Fuentes was a highly regarded guitar maker in the second half of the 19th century, whose instruments include elaborate instruments such as this one, and another highly ornate example said to have been made for the Royal Chamber in Madrid around 1860. The border decoration of this guitar features the recurring image of a squirrel holding an acorn and the bridge is encircled by a wide band ellipse with central herringbone pattern made from ebony and mother-of-pearl.
