A Grooming In Gray -- Destiny as a troopship seemed to face Britain's 81,000-ton Luxury liner, Queen Mary (above) which on March 19 was being given a coat of admiralty gray paint, while a dredge worked alongside her, clearing away mud collected since the Queen was laid up when the war began last September. Some 770 new men arrived in New York March 18, to supplement crews on both the Queen Mary and the Mauretania and the report soon spread that these liners might transport Canadian or Australian soldiers.
