Griffon / European Vulture (Gyps fulvus). Spain. Lives in a wide range of habitats including mountains, plateaus-steppe and even semi-desert with abrupt rocky areas such as crags and canyons for nesting and roosting. Soaring flight requires updraughts associated with slopes and cliffs or thermals. Generally prefers dry sunny areas. Dependent on presence of livestock. Feeds almost exclusively on carrion. Sedentary and partly migratory.
