Grafitti and dipinti from houses at Regio VI, Insula XIII. At top, someone extols the generosity of Terentius Eudoxus at number 8: "Only Marcus Terentius Eudoxsis always supports his friends - he keeps them and protects them and supports them in every way." In the centre, others urge neighbors to vote "Gavium Aedilem" at the house of Gavius Proculus, number 16, and at bottom, images of wine jugs with old labels from the bar at number 17. Illustration drawn by Discanno and lithographed by Victor Steeger from Emil Presuhn's "Pompeji. Die Neuesten Ausgrabungen von 1874-1881," Weigel, Leipzig, 1882. German archeologist Presuhn (1844-1881) lived in Italy for eight years and, with Mr. Discanno and Miss Amy Butts, made exact copies of many wall paintings that are now lost.
