Gorontalo Bay -- The town of Gorontalo, situated on this bay, is the main port of the district of Minahassa and one of the three good ports of Celebes. It is situated on the south-east of the most northern peninsula of this spider-shaped island. Most of the inhabitants in the surrounding district are Christians. A highway crosses the peninsula from Gorontalo to Kuandang. Main export was copra. March 31, 1950.
