Training hard for possible British representation in this year's Olympics is sixteen-year-old Thance Perry, a pupil of Merrywood Grammar School, Bristol and a member of the Bristol and a member of the Bristol Woman's Athletics club, last June, making her first appearance in open competition, Juance confounded the petition, Juance confounded the critics by returning a time of seconds dead for the 50 metres championship. Now training at Knowle Cricket club's ground, Juance says of her Olympic possibilities; "If I get no luck this year, then my ambition is Finland in 1952.". March 06, 1948.
