In Germany, in the early 1900s, carrier pigeons were used to get 'bird's eye' views with cameras. The camera is strapped to the bird's breast and made to put downward when the bird flies. An automatic device, wound up like a watch, esposes new film at regular intervals. This shows how camera is strapped to breast of the pigeon. One the right is the dovecote on wheels, and the owner sleeps below. At bottom are view of Emperor Frederick's park, which the public was not allowed to enter, and a portion of the village - both taken by the pigeon. The photos date to around 1908.
