General Eisenhower As A Boy -- Dwight David Eisenhower, aged 12, third of six sons of David J. and Ida Elizabeth (nee Stover) Eisenhower pose for a family group of the Daguerre type, in 1902. Serious-faced young David is seen on the outside left - a position he soon changed to "Center field" when he took up baseball. His father (whose family had been in America since 1730) was, in turn, farmer, engineer, ice-maker. - In the centre, foreground, is Milton Stover Eisenhower, aged 3 when this picture was taken; he is now President of the Kansas State College, and was, unitl 1943, Associated Director of the American office of War Information. - Picture was taken at Abilene, Kansas, where the General spent his boyhood.
