Date: ca. 1479-1425 B.C..This mask was made for a man named Amenhotep who was an overseer of builders. Several small fragments of papyrus are stuck to the front surface of the mask. These come from a Book of the Dead papyrus that also belonged to Amenhotep. Two leaves of this papyrus (30.8.70a and 30.8.70b) are also displayed in gallery 117, as is the mask of a woman who was probably Amenhotep's wife (30.8.68).
