A friendly group of women and children greet me as I walk through the town of Torodi in southwestern Niger. They stand in front of their handmade mud-brick house. Each year, an extra coating of mud is smeared on the outside walls to keep the rain from washing the bricks away and the house from falling. The roof of the house is a thin sheet of aluminum held up by cylindrical wood beams collected in the 'bush.' NOT MODEL RELEASED. EDITORIAL USE ONLY.
