The freighter that sank alongside a wharf following a disastrous fire in an Australian port now has been raised and towed to shallow water. At high tide, the keel and part of the hull of the freighter are showing above the water. She looks like a partly submerged whale. The ship will not go to sea again. Her engines will be removed and the hull will be broken up. July 27, 1942. (Photo by Adams/Fairfax Media).
