Freak Plane Makes Appearance - The airplane which resembles a giant surfboard with a motor and cabin attached beneath, which was designed by Earl E McClary and prepared for flight here. The craft is one of the most unique experiments in aeronautics ever devised. It is largely composed of wing, the cabin, motor and landing gear being suspended beneath the wide surface through which a hole was cut for the propelled to turn. Great lifting power is credited to the pear-shaped wing by the inventor. April 05, 1929. (Photo by International Newsreel Photo).
