Former Waffen S.S. Pohl was imprisoned for five years for crimes against humanity. Tried at Nuremburg, he was first sentenced to death, but this was later commuted to five years imprisonment. Good conduct earned him a remission. Pohl's wife died while he was serving his prison sentence. December 27, 1949.
